Patron: Search

Use the Quick Search box

  • Type in a name or part of a name.  Note that Quick Search looks at both patron and title (bibliographic) records.
  • You can find patrons by:
    • the first part of the patron’s address (for ex., their house number).
    • their street name (for ex. North Meridian)
  • their phone number (don’t use parentheses, but do use dashes.  For ex., 317-555.1212)
  • their library card number, either by scanning the card or typing it in.

HINT: Hit “Enter” to exit suggestions, and then choose “Patron Keywords” to restrict your results to patron names

Use the Find Tool

  • Click “FIND” on the LEAP Header.  If you don’t see Patron at the far left, select whatever shows and bring up the drop down menu so you can select Patron.  Note that there is another drop down menu in third part of the search circled in blue below.  This allows you create either a very specific, or a very broad search.
  • Once you have selected the search field and entered the search term, click the magnifying glass icon to execute the search.
  • Many of these fields can’t be searched using the Quick Search Feature.  For example, you can select grad yr/homeroom to search for a particular class.

Note:  you can use the * key as a wild card.  Very helpful if you don’t know how to spell a name, or if you suspect it may have been misspelled.  Also helpful if you want to pull up all the students at your school who are in the same grade.  They will all have the same high school graduation year, but will have different teachers.  Searching 2031* will pull up all of them.

Note:  To get just patrons at your location, click on the funnel icon, select Registered Location, then select your location.
