Holds: Picklist

To open the holds Picklist, select Utilities > Picklist Processing.

When you open the Picklist workform, the Pending requests are listed for the branch you selected when you logged into Leap. To view holds with other statuses, select another tab. The totals are displayed for each view for the selected branch, and these totals are updated as the hold requests change statuses.

Leap > Utilities > Picklist screen

If you can’t find the item, select the box next to the item and click the Missing action button. The item status will change to Missing so it will not appear on your list again until it has been checked in or out. To set an item to Missing, the item’s assigned branch must be the same as the branch to which you are logged in.

To sort or filter the Picklist

  • To sort, select a column header.
  • To filter, start typing in the Filter requests box. For example, start typing the call number to locate all items in the same library location.
  • Select a hold request and select Properties to open the Properties dialog. The Hold Properties dialog displays the following information on the Hold Request, Item, and About tabbed views:

The Picklist has the following tabs:

  • Pending – Select the Pending tab to list the hold requests with a Pending status for the selected branch.
  • Located – This is not used by Shared System or IndyPL. It makes sense in a larger library with lots of employees.
  • Unclaimed – Select the Unclaimed tab to list the holds with an Unclaimed status for the selected branch.
  • Unclaimed ILL – not in use
  • Holds to Transfer – Select the Holds to Transfer tab to list the held items that need to be transferred to a changed pickup branch.

Once all items from the Picklist have been gathered, check them in. If they are being placed in transit to another location, drop them in your blue tote. The sorter at LSC will know where they go. You may be alerted that the patron who placed an item on hold is in your library. Lucky them, they won’t have to wait long!
