It’s hard to know what books to request from IndyPL or purchase for your library if you don’t speak Spanish!
Luckily, the catalog is in English so it’s possible to do some searches and filters without being able to speak the language. Unfortunately, not all books printed in Spanish have great catalog records, so you’ll inevitably miss some when you search.
Because your time is limited, I created some searches for you and saved them. These searches are evergreen. Unlike a list or a record set, they will always show you everything in the catalog meeting the search criteria. For this first group, I did an advanced search by call number for books and graphic novels in Spanish published between 2000 and 2030. They are sorted by author’s last name. Since some of these return several thousand titles, use the filters on the left to narrow still further, or modify the search for authors whose last names begin with a particular letter.

For the searches below, I narrowed the publication date to 2020 to 2030 and then used a variety of limiters either in the advanced search or in the filters once the results were on the screen.
Books about soccer OR futbol in Spanish (looking for the topic soccer omitted NINE books about futbol! Go figure!)
Books by John Jory (Good Egg, etc.) There are only three – so far. But as more are added, they will appear in your search results.
Picture book biographies in Spanish
Picture books with animal characters in Spanish
Bilingual books in Spanish and English (note: many books in this category are not so designated in the catalog so this search doesn’t give you ALL the books in Spanish and English, just the ones where it’s indicated in the catalog record)
